Drew is one tough monkey!

For those of you that have been asking about Drew...Thank you! He is doing fine. A little background for those of you that don't know what is going on. In October, Drew started spiking fevers and breaking out in hives. I watched his diet, clothing, etc for allergies but that wasn't it. I thought maybe it was related to viruses during cold and flu season but that wasn't it. I took him to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and they did 12 different tests (blood and urine) and found that his kidney tests were off. That set the alarms off in my head and freaked me out quite a bit because Neil has Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and the boys have a 50% chance of having it too (something I have always known) so Drew has been referred to a pediatric nephrologist at Children's. We haven't been yet but I wanted to let you all know what was going on and let you know we are doing okay. Thanks for checking on us! :) I will keep you posted! Hugs!

Take Drew Out to the Ball Game...

It was the first day of baseball for Andrew today. Doesn't he look cute?! Practice every Monday night at 5:30pm until the games start. He did a great job today, we just need to work on actually touching the bases when he runs them. He's on the Sharpsburg Cubs and has the same coaching staff as last Spring. Josh, Bryon and Raymond. Great coaches that help the boys learn the game while having a great time! I'm SO EXCITED baseball season is here!
GO CUBS!! Drew with his new bag ready to go

Remember when Jack had to grow into his soccer bag...same deal ;)

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines Day to my two favorite boys! I knew they would get a ton of candy from school and we have WAY TOO MANY stuffed animals so I decided to get something we could do together. I got them both "I Love You, Bean" plants. They are very much into planting seeds, so much that they buried an apple in the front yard and are convinced that we will have an apple tree by spring. :) So, when I saw these I thought they might like them and they did. The cool part is that the bean says, "I Love You" when it sprouts.
Take a look at the site to understand a little better...

Tooth #3 -Feb 9

Jack lost his first top tooth and I think it makes him look so different. He is getting so big! I need to share the toothfairy story with you all so that just in case you didn't already know what a great kid he is this might make you go, "Wow".
So, as you read in the previous post Andrew and I had the flu and of course that's when the tooth fell out. Everyone went to bed and the toothfairy fell asleep before she did her job. She jumped up in the morning to rush in only to find Jack sitting up on the top bunk holding the envelope with the tooth in it. Here is out conversation:
"Good morning, Buddy. Oh no, the toothfairy didn't come?" -Mom
"No, she didn't come." -Jack
"Are you upset?" -Mom
"No, I'm not upset. She wasn't gonna come here, Mom. You and Andrew have the flu. She has a really busy job and she can't get the flu. She'll come when you guys are better." -Jack
He then proceeded to hop out of his bunk and go take a shower.
Uhhhhhhh, what?!?! I sat there in complete amazement! He is such a great kid!
Jack ran in the following morning and woke me up to say that he got a dollar, 2 packs of sugar free gum and a note from the toothfairy, but he couldn't read it because it was written in cursive. I read it to him and it said that she was sorry that she didn't make it the night before but she didn't want to catch the flu.
Jack looked at me, smiled and said, "I told you, Mom!"

Drew and I LOVE Tamiflu!

"Please put a mask on while you wait if you think it might be the flu."
Well it was and Mom got it too. Drew and I were out of commission for a couple of days but thanks to Tamiflu we are both back among the land of the living! :)

Hoops For Heart!

Jack has finished his fundraising for The American Heart Association's Hoops For Heart and he will be shooting hoops on Wednesday, February 9th in PE class. As some of you may know, his goal was a pretty high goal of $500 and he did a great job by reaching it and actually going over and reaching $535. Now on to the thank you notes, which may take some time so be patient with us. Thank you so much for your support. Jack and I truly appreciate it! :)

Happy Birthday Angie!

Happy Birthday to one of our most favorite people!! Well, okay so her birthday was last weekend but since she was out of town the boys and I got to celebrate with her today. We spent the afternoon at Piedmont Park playing baseball, riding scooters, building nature houses (that's what Drew calls making piles of acorns) and playing on the playground. Angie, we hope you had as much fun as we did. Thanks for everything! We love you! :)
