We played two tough games tonight! The Cubs took on the Indians and suffered their first loss of the season while the Cardinals took another beating from the Red Sox. The boys were not pleased. Here are a few pre-game pictures since they were having no part of the camera when it was all over! They both go back at it on Saturday! Good luck, Boys!

Happy Birthday Nicklaus Smith!!
Nicklaus Smith is Andrew's best friend! He has known him his whole life and they have always played so well together! Bryon, Kim and I often joke about the trouble they will get in when they are teenagers. We live two doors down so it is entirely possible! I put a few of my favorite pictures from over the past couple years on here so everyone can see how big and grown up they are getting! Nicklaus, we hope you have a wonderful birthday and I am so happy that you and Drew are such good friends! You are a super fantastic little boy and we love you!

Andrew's got the space bug...
Ever since we got back from Huntsville and Space Camp, Drew has been slightly obsessed with space. He was drawing pictures all the time and talking about it all the time. Well, Saturday afternoon he said he really wanted to make a space wall in the playroom. I thought it was a great idea and a great Mommy/Drew project to do together since Jack was going to a birthday sleepover that night. We went to the store and I let him pick out the supplies and for $11.00...wahlah...a space wall! All I did was border the paper, he hung everything else. We finished up the night by watching Spooky Buddies. Thanks for a great date night, Drew! I love you!! xoxo
Soccer, Baseball, Baseball...All by Noon!
September 24, 2011It was a busy Satuday Morning. We had soccer at 9:00am and baseball at 9:30am & 10:30am. My neighbors Bryon and Kim took Andrew to his 9:30am baseball game (Bryon coaches and Nicklaus plays) which made it a much easier. Jack and I rushed from his soccer game to the baseball fields but missed most of Drew's game. That's why there are no pictures of him playing. Sorry. :( Drew's team won their game and have remained undefeated. They are up again tonight and I'm looking forward to watching him play!
Jack's team won 4-2. Jack scored 3 but did a real great job passing and working with his team. The majority of the kids on Jack's team have never played before so it is really nice to see him help them out on the field. I think I have his amazing coaching staff from last year and the older boys that did that for him when he was younger to thank for that. I was so proud of his sportsmanship! He is really growing as a person! Great job, Jack!! xoxo

Jack's baseball team suffered another hard loss but they were still fun to watch. They play tonight at 5:45pm.

First Day of Fall
Today is the first official day of Fall 2011! We love fall! It has changing leaves, Halloween, a Birthday or two, football, apples and PUMPKINS! What is not to love?!?! We decided to bring in fall in style by making acorn snacks for the boys classes. We invited Bumpa & Christy over to help. Bumpa played the role of the supervisor because as Drew pointed out, "Bumpa, you're not doing nothing!" Ahhhh, Drew...all you did was eat the kisses. :)

Tuesday Night Baseball
September 19, 2011Jack suffered a hard loss on Tuesday night but got a great hit to center field. He tried to get to 2nd but got caught in the middle of the bases and ended up getting tagged out! Great job to all the Cardinals! They are back on the field on Saturday at 10:30am.
Drew and the Cubs gained another win on Tuesday! Here is a picture of Drew waiting to run off 2nd! Great job to Andrew and the Cubs. They take the field on Saturday at 9:30am

Jack was ready for some football!!
Jack went to his first NFL game on Sunday. He saw a great game and had some pretty good seats too! He watched the Falcons beat the Eagles and also caught a t-shirt! I was very lucky to get 2 tickets from my boss on Friday afternoon. So I decided to go get Jack a Falcons shirt and put the tickets inside. Jack has been wanting to go to a game forever. To say he was excited was a complete understatement. He said, "Are you and me going, Momma?" and he had that concerned look in his eye. I knew what that look meant, "What about Daddy?" I said, "Those are your tickets Buddy, you take who you want to." I believe there are some things that are meant for a Father and a Son and your first NFL game is one of them. Now that being said, there are things that are meant for Mom, like your first trip to Fenway Park! :)
Soccer Season Kicks Off
September 17, 2011
Jack had his first game on Saturday. His team suffered a tough 5-2 loss.
Here is Jack with Nicholas Koukoutsis. They are in the same 2nd grade class and have the same birthday. Although, Jack will tell you that he is 6 hours older...not sure if that is accurate. haha
Nick was one of the many boys that were at Lake Lanier on Labor Day weekend and we all had a great time. Back to soccer, Jack tried to score on Nick several times and Nick stopped it every single time. Jack ended up scoring 2 goals while Nick had 3. Nick was the player of the game! Way to go, Nick! You did a great job!!

Grandparents Lunch take 2!
Jack had his lunch date with Bumpa and Christy for Grandparents Week today! The lunch choice was meatloaf or pb&j and since Jack was not having any part of either, I made his lunch...which also turned out to be a disaster. I think maybe you can tell by the fact that he is eating an ice cream sandwich instead of his regular sandwich. Keep reading and you will see why he didn't want his sandwich...

Big Wins for the Cubs and Cardinals
Last night was Opening Day for Sharpsburg Fall Baseball! Andrew and the rest of the Cubs took the field at 5:30pm while Jack and the Cardinals started at 7:15pm. It was a great night for baseball. The weather is starting to cool off and all the boys played really well. Andrew got a coach pitch hit up the first base line and did a great job! Jack hit it over second base his very first time up to bat (remember this is his first season, he's always been my soccer kid). He hit it off a kid pitch too! I was so proud of both of them! They did a great job! The Cubs won with a score of 18-7 and the Cardinals took home a 8-2 victory! Drew and the Cubs take the field on Saturday afternoon while Jack and the Cardinals will be back in action on Tuesday night! Great job to all the boys on both teams!!!

Grandparents
Since I just talked about my Dad and Christy in a Grandparents Lunch post I think it's important to recognize the Grandparents that don't live here (but are just as important) since it is Grandparents Week at school.
Mom, Grammie & Grampa Walker, Nana Dodge, and Memere & Grandpa Welch-
Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for both Jack & Andrew. They are growing up to be amazing little boys and I can see a little bit of all of you in them. They are lucky to have so many people that care about them. Happy Grandparents Week!
Grandparents Lunch with Andrew
Kindergarten Lunch It's Grandparents Week at Welch Elementary School and they have a lunch for Grandparents to come to. Drew's was today and Jack's is Friday. They enjoyed a choice of a taco or mini corndogs...mmmmm. I know you're super jealous! ;)
Thank you, Dad and Christy for being such amazing grandparents and parents. You bring so much to our lives and we are blessed and lucky to have you both. We love you!! xoxo

SPACE CAMP
How in the world could we go to Huntsville and NOT go to Space Camp?!?! For those of you that know me well, you know I wanted to go to Space Camp SO BAD when I was a kid. I asked every year for Christmas. As an adult, I have to say when I got there, I was pretty disappointed. I think Space Camp was probably pretty cool in the 80's and may have lost its flair. :) The boys enjoyed themselves which is what matters the most. A quick note to my Dad & Mom...don't worry, I won't ask to go to Space Camp anymore. ;)

Daddy graduates from Bomb School
I took the boys to Huntsville, Alabama on Friday so they could see their Dad graduate from Bomb School. Neil is on the Atlanta Police SWAT team and just finished a 6 week bomb certification course. Huntsville is the only bomb school in the country which worked out well because the boys really wanted to go and I was able to take them since it was only 3.5 hours away. As you all know, the boys think he has the coolest job and is the coolest guy ever so they were super excited to see him and to see all the cool stuff they had at the school. He had been gone for 6 weeks so they were super excited to get there. He gave them both a bomb tech pin and coin. Drew is still wearing that pin. Congratulations, Neil! Please be safe, you have 2 little boys that think you hung the moon.

Labor Day Weekend at Lake Lanier
(Drew, Ethan, Lucas, Jack, Peyton, Cooper, Nick, Regan, Andres & Valerie)
We headed to Lake Lanier this weekend to meet up with the Naquin Family like we did last year! We had a great time fishing, swimming, tubing, kneeboarding...you name it, we did it! We headed up Saturday and stayed the night and were joined by others for the day on Sunday! Everyone had a really great time and we even avoided the rain!
That's alot of boys...
